"If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are all people most to be pitied. But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have died." (1Corinthians 15:19-20)

Losing a loved one is difficult at every stage of life, but as followers of Christ, we have the assurance that much more awaits us than what we can see around us. This is a holy time, when we are most in need of the comfort and support of caring friends and clergy. One of the most important tasks of the church is to provide care and meaning to those who grieve.

At North Shore, our ministers meet with families to make sure that each memorial service is specially tailored to honor your individual needs. For more information, please download our brochure  and form. If you would like to make an appointment to speak with one of our ministers, please call the church office: 414-352-6123.

 Preplanning For Our Own Deaths

In order to best serve the members and friends of North Shore Congregational Church, we are making these preplanning forms available to assist in planning for the kind of memorial or funeral service you desire at the time of your own death, or that of a loved one. Planning ahead for a simple and dignified Christian service can ease many burdens for the family during what can be a time of great stress. Please keep one copy of the form with your important personal documents at your home, and return the original to the church, where it will be kept in a confidential file.

In a recent First Sunday session on preplanning, our speaker representing the legal profession recommended that everyone over the age of 18 have a Power of Attorney for Health Care, preferably utilizing the standard form from the state website. That form and other standard forms may be downloaded from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services:
